If you're viewing this site on mobile, you might notice it looks a little different, and maybe a little odd. That's because I've been working on making the site responsive, so that it's accessible on mobile as well as pc. The navbar should now be fixed on desktop, and I'm working on convincing it to be a dropdown on mobile.

I know the modern web-design philosophy is to design mobile-first, but this is a website for me and my friends, and we all have desktops. I'm considering switching to a non-smartphone and will mostly be designing on a desktop, so desktop takes priority for me. But I'm also aware that a lot of people are in a very different situation, and I'm working on it!

I'm also working on adding some more content! Multiple Animorphs and Pokémon game reviews are in the works, some of them are even close to being publishable!

I'm increasingly convinced that the inconvenience of working on this is worth committing myself to. As more and more websites require identity verification, demand access to more of my data, or push algorithmic control of my viewing habits, settling down outside of that ecosystem is feeling more and more comfortable.

It's been a while, huh! 😅

I've been making little updates here and there, but it's been slow going; I've had a rough year mental-health wise, and trying to get myself to focus on anything, let alone something I'm inexperienced in like HTML/CSS is a struggle. In brighter news, though, all this practice is potentially leading up to running a basic introductory course for people at my local library, so that's something!

The animorphs section is a little bit of a mess at the moment, but I think I'm happy with the rating scales for that and Pokémon games. Now I just need to populate it with more in-depth reviews, which is going to be a slower process.

Here's hoping this grows into something I can be proud of!

Welcome to my own little corner of the Internet!

I've been looking for somewhere a bit easier to personalise than the walled gardens of social media, and neocities seems like the place to do that! It's certainly got a learning curve - it takes me back to studying HTML at school, though I never got as far as CSS or any of the new things I've been learning. This layout has been kindly made available for free by repth and has been very helpful as a starting point. I'll be updating this page as I update the website as a whole, so if something doesn't quite work yet, you can check this homepage for major fixes!

Here's to an exciting journey!
